01 / Understand the System
Details to consider before you choose.
UPVC is used to make window and door profiles, which work together with the glazing, seals, reinforcement and hardware as one assembly. Designs include hinged, sliding, fixed and combined configurations, depending on the profile series.
The quotation should identify the required Wintech system and its components. Air and water tightness, sound insulation and thermal performance depend on the system, glazing, size, fabrication and installation. A material name alone does not establish a particular performance value for every window.

- Confirm opening directions and handle positions, including any conflicts with shutters or insect screens.
- Select glazing to address safety, sun exposure and acoustic requirements.
- Review fixing points, perimeter sealing and drainage paths.
At Handover
- Test every sash, handle and lock in its approved operating positions.
- Inspect the glazing, seals and finish, and check that drainage openings are clear.
- Receive the profile, glazing and hardware details and care instructions.

Handling and Operation
- Use the handle to open the sash. Do not pull on the glass or put weight on the sash.
- Change tilt-and-turn handle and sash positions only as directed in the manual.
- Secure the sash using the approved method and avoid leaving it to swing in the wind.
As Needed
How to Clean
- Wipe profiles with a soft cloth, water and a compatible mild cleaner, then dry.
- Clean the glass with a suitable product, keeping it away from sensitive seals and hardware.
- Gently remove dust from tracks and visible drainage outlets without dismantling or drilling.
Protect the System
What to Avoid
- Do not use solvents, acids, abrasives or a steam cleaner.
- Do not paint seals or block drainage holes with silicone.
- Do not spray general-purpose oil. Lubricate hardware only as its instructions specify.

When to Request Maintenance
- Difficulty closing, a rubbing sash or a loose handle.
- Water leakage, damaged seals or displaced hardware.
- Cracked glass or condensation inside a double-glazed unit.
Agree inspection and cleaning intervals with the technician based on the manufacturer’s instructions, usage, dust and humidity. Electrical work, dismantling loaded components and work at height require a qualified professional. Do not attempt these repairs yourself.
